McCain Street Rally Lebanon Ohio

At midnight the loyal supporters and fans started showing up to be at the front of the line. The gates would not open for another seven hours. Throughout the morning of Sept 9th they patiently waited as workers prepared the stage for the main event. By daybreak the rains begin to fall as the line spread over two blocks around the historic buildings in Lebanon Ohio. Security was expecting a few thousand people for the event. By the time the first speaker took to the stage the crowd was reported to be over ten thousand strong.
When the tour bus arrived the crowd erupted with cheers and chants waiting for the first glimpse of stardom. A superstar welcome for three of the biggest names in the news. Digital cameras were held high in the air trying to snap a piece of history as the three walked to the stage. It was electric when Governor Palin took to the microphone as the crowed chanted Sarah!! Sarah!! Sarah! Senator John McCain waived to the cheering Republican supporters that had waited hours for his arrival. The Conservative McCain was dressed for the street rally in a blue open collar dress shirt, slacks and a Baseball cap that displayed his Navy service. Todd Palin stood on stage behind his wife as he smiled in support of the enormous welcome from the Warren County crowd.
“This is what America is all about, small town America” said Palin as she began her speech. The fans connected with Palin as she explained her financial conservatism with the slashing of excess perks as Governor for Alaska. Todd Palin seemed at ease with his new thrust into the national spotlight. As Sarah introduced her husband and spoke of his accomplishments, the crowd cheered loudly.
Todd Palin smiled and waived at fans in each direction. He showed poise and professionalism in his new role as the possible first husband in The Whitehouse.

The Golden Lamb in historic Lebanon Ohio was the backdrop for “McCain Street USA” Lebanon Rally. Weeks prior to this event, the enormous turnout would have been unheard of for a McCain rally. With the addition of Sarah Palin, the McCain Camp has seen rising numbers in the attendance at rallies’. Twelve Presidents have visited the Golden Lamb and John McCain is hoping to be the Thirteenth President on that list. Both Candidates know that Ohio is a key state in the electoral process and they will need Ohio to help win the Presidency.
Ohio has been one of the leading states affected from the housing crisis with one of the largest foreclosure rates. The voters are looking for change from the worsening economic status and soaring unemployment figures in the United States. They feel a connection with this small town working mom with a blue collar husband who speaks of change and reform in Washington.
In the March Primaries, Ohio saw a large number of Republican voters switch over to vote Democratic in what was dubbed by the media as Operation Chaos. Fueled by conservative national talk show hosts, operation chaos urged voters to stop Obama by voting for Hillary Clinton. The voters responded and Clinton won Ohio over Obama in a land slide. The McCain camp is hoping to capture some of the Clinton voters that have not yet committed to Obama.
John McCain is looking to shake things up in Washington. Naming Sarah Palin as his running mate has shaken things up around the country. Recent National surveys have shown that the majority of voters relate to Sarah Palin and her family over the other candidates. The McCain camp has changed strategy by adding Palin to more campaign stops due to the enormous turnouts with her appearance. Chants of USA roared from the thousands as Senator John McCain took to the microphone. The Senator seems to have more energy in his speaking style with Governor Palin at his side.
George W. Bush made the Golden Lamb a campaign stop in his 2004 re-election campaign. The oldest inn in Ohio served as the perfect host for the McCain Street USA Rally. The over two hundred year old structure was once a coach stop between Cincinnati and Columbus. A coach stop on Main Street is a fitting stop for a maverick.
